For the 2007/2008 season, as part of a Scottish Athletics proposed initiative, Team West Lothian was formed to increase competition opportunities for developing athletes and to raise the profile of athletics in the West Lothian area.

Team West Lothian includes athletes from Linlithgow Athletic Club, Lothian Running Club and Livingston & District AAC. Athletes from the West Lothian Development Squad can also compete if they join one of the three clubs.

The first outing for Team West Lothian will be in Division 2 of the long established 'JSB Plumbing' Forth Valley League, where they will have a chance to compete against six other teams from the Forth Valley area in four matches during the summer 2008 season.
